I'm an inspiration!

Mommy's aunt Nancy is a great artist and she painted some pictures of me that I wanted to share. The pictures are taken at a funny angle, but you can get the idea. If you look back to September and October postings, you can see the pictures that she painted.

These will soon be hanging in the Bolton house!

My Old Kentucky Home

It's been a while since I blogged - so much has happened in the past month between Thanksgiving, going to Kentucky, our first blizzard, and getting ready for Christmas. I'm now 23 months old. My vocabulary has continued to expand. One of my favorite things to say is to tell people to "Wake up!" I still love my cars and have names for most of them. I like to put them down for naps with blankies and pillows, tell them night night, and then wake up. I've started singing some songs. My favorite ones are Twinkle, Twinkle (which I sing "like a diamond in the sky"), Baa baa black sheep (I sing Baa baa, yes sir yes sir), Happy Birthday (which I usually sing as Happy birthday to you Mommy), ABCs (I say ABCDE and then a bunch of nonsense). I can "read" a lot of my books. I can also count to 10. My favorite numbers are 6-9 which I always say correctly. I rarely say 4 and almost never say 5. I am very opinionated: if I don't like the music playing, I'll say "No wikic" (aka music) or if I don't like what's on tv I'll say "No cartoon." I now can tell you that my name is "Coopah."

I made a big transition this month as well. After doing somersaults out of my crib, I am now in my toddler bed. I call it my "little bed" and I like it a lot. Sometimes I still get out of it at night and yell for mommy and daddy, but I get back in when they tell me to.

I enjoyed Thanksgiving this year, as opposed to my pureed turkey last year. Mommy (by the way, since I'm so grown up now, I usually refer to my parents as Mommy and Daddy) was on a nightfloat rotation and had to work the Wednesday and Thursday nights of Thanksgiving. She decided to move Thanksgiving to Friday when she wasn't quite so sleepy. She made green beans, mashed potatoes, corn pudding, and dressing (although it wasn't the world famous Evans recipe). Dad was in charge of the honey baked ham. It sure was yummy. Overall, we had a pretty lazy day and spent it in our jammies (see my Cars jammies?!?).

I am very silly and love to dance, play cars, and blocks. Haha, I bonked Daddy. After I hit him with the buckets, he hid.

Mommy and I made one last trip to the zoo before it got too cold. I'm really into animals and know all the animal sounds. I really love the lion. He was sleeping on a rock and I told him to wake up.

In addition to the animals, most of which had found indoor homes for the winter, there was all sorts of play equipment that I enjoyed.

I also got to touch some cool elephant bones. I really like elephants and their "big noses."

Despite what this picture might look like, Mommy and I did have a good day. I was wicked (you like how I'm a Bostonian now?) afraid of the gorilla statue and had to close my eyes while we walked by.

Mommy and Daddy had a rare two week vacation, so we took a trip down to Kentucky for a little over a week so see family and friends. I went on an "airplane up a sky" which was pretty cool. My first stop was Louisville.

Mommy and Daddy snuck in a little Christmas shopping while Grandpa Bolton (whom I still call Bubba) rode on the escalators over and over again.

I got to head over to see David and Megan Schulte who hadn't seen me in a long time. We all got to meet Taylor Schulte for the first time too. I was a pretty good babysitter. I showed her my cars, shared my sippy cup, patted her head, and entertained her in the exersaucer. I love babies!

St X and Trinity were playing a big rivalry football game while we were there as well. I love choo choo trains, so when the opportunity arose for me to tailgait in Uncle Dennis's caboose, I jumped a the chance. At this point, it was colder in Kentucky than it had been in Boston, so we didn't stay too long.

St. Nick found me even though I was staying at Grandmother's house. I totally understand the meaning of the word "presents" and boy did I get a ton while I was in Louisville. St Nick brought me more cars, stickers, crayons, a coloring book, some bouncy balls, and big boy underwear. I'm not quite ready for those yet, but it's an inspiration.

Nana and Papa Bolton had a big party for all the Boltons while we were there. It was really fun and I was on my hammiest behavior.

Here's Nana with her two great-grandchildren - me and Brody Bolton. It was the first time I got to meet Brody and again, I love babies. I would give him big kisses on the mouth all day long if people would let me.

Brody is too little to open his own Christmas presents, so I did it for him. Someone's gotta show him the ropes.

Grandmother gave me a harmonica. I was really good at playing music.

We also celebrated Nana Bolton's birthday. I sang Happy birthday to you Nana. After drinking Gigi's gingerale and eating Nana's birthday cake, I was pretty hyped on sugar. I used to be afraid of dogs, but now I love them. I showed off for all the people walking Bijoux on a leash. I also did lots of dancing, hugs, and somersaults.

Memaw Evans had been pretty sick in the hospital over the last few weeks, but we were glad she was home and feeling a little better, so we took a little trip over to Mt. Sterling to visit her and Aunt Nancy. Memaw gave me a cool truck and she had a nice cat named Harry that I chased all over the house, begging him to be my friend. Aunt Nancy showed me some of the really cool paintings she painted of me that she is going to give to Mommy. I'll post pictures of those soon.

After a lovely trip to Louisville, visiting family and friends (though we wish we had time to see more), we headed to Madisonville to visit Mimi, Papaw, and the other Taylor Evans.

I love playing the piano with Mimi. "More niano!" I taught Lightning McQueen how to play the piano too.

Spinning around in the chair with Papaw was fun too.

Mimi is so funny. She let me bonk her in the head with a block.

This is a pretty Christmas tree. I call Christmas trees "Christmas." No trees, just Christmas.

We opened some Christmas presents at Mimi and Papaws, all dressed cozy in our jammies. I got cool stuff.

I am now officially Super Cooper with my own cape. I call myself "Coopah Coopah." My cape has a big letter C on the back of it. I can fly (or run) very fast!

Uncle Taylor just graduated from law school and got all these books to use to help him study for the bar. I thought it would be a good place to sit with my cars.

After a nice visit, we headed back in the airplane up a sky, back to Boston where we've been gearing up for the holidays.

We put up the Christmas tree, I rearranged the Nativity scene so that everyone was lined up in a straight line and put baby Jesus back in his "bucket" so he could take a nap, and I colored some holiday pictures. I really like snowmen. I also know that Santa says ho, ho, ho.

And to help us get in the holiday spirit, Mother Nature decided to dump a little bit of snow on Boston. We have about 18 inches at the house that fell over the course of two days. It was beautiful snow, white and powdery, just tons of it. The good thing was that they cleared the roads well, so once you dug your car out, it was easy to get around, which was a good thing since mommy and daddy still had to work!

I am definitely a snow bunny! I loved playing outside. My little snowsuit kept me nice and warm.

I caught snowflakes on my tongue.

I put handfulls of snow in my mouth. Yum!

I had a snowball fight with mommy and lost! It was great!!!

I can't play in the front yard or in the back part of the driveway because the snow is up to my waist, so we played mostly on the sidewalks and in the streets. I don't know how the snow is ever going to melt because the banks are taller than me!

I always feel like somebody's watching me. I went around to the neighbor's cars and cleaned off the headlights. When mommy asked what I was doing, I said "Clean eyes." Can you tell why I think cars have eyes?

This was a very long post! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. I will see you next month with pictures from Christmas and my second birthday! Take care and stay warm.
