Easter, Soccer, and New Wheels

Our family of four, dressed up for Easter. We didn't do much this month, but instead filled the blog with lots of cute pictures of us.

While Mom and I were at the circus last month, Dad took Reid to his first Red Sox game. A week later, Dad took a special day off and took me to a game. I love going to games and always want to know who's winning.

Gigi and Bubba came up for Easter this year.

Reid was demonstrating his stand up skills and crazy cheese face skills.

Easter morning and I love a good pose. A few weeks earlier when Mimi was here, we went shopping for an Easter outfit. We found this suit and I got to try it on in a dressing room. I had never tried on anything before, so once I got it on, I struck all sorts of fancy poses in the dressing room. I admired myself over and over and just said things like, "I love this suit" and "I'm as fancy as Daddy." Daddy got me a big boy tie and then coordinated his tie with mine and I was absolutely in love with the way I looked (hence the five-billion pictures to follow.)

Let's not forget little Reid. He was pretty stylin' too. The ground was too wet to sit him down to do much posing.

Walking to church

The Boltons (minus mom who had to take the picture)

After church we took a quick trip around the block while the Easter Bunny finished up hiding the eggs in the back yard.

Hurry up Easter Bunny!

The hunt was on!

Here's one!

Bubba helped me find some more. They were pretty tricky this year.

Spring soccer is still in full swing. It rained out the game Gigi and Bubba were in town for, but we were back on for the next 2 weeks. We've already had way more games than we did last spring season.

I've gotten over my crying after each game and am much better with the team concept. I'm still a scoring machine, scoring 2-4 goals each game. I've also gotten better on defense. I spend a big portion of the game falling down.

We planted some tulips last fall and they turned out nicely. I grew nearly an inch and a half in the last 3 months. I'm really very interested in letters, spelling, and reading things. I really try to sound out words on my own. I'm not ready to start reading yet, but I can write all my upper and lower case letters. I can also write all my numbers. I'm still obsessed with any and all types of sports.

Derby came and went pretty unnoticed at the Bolton household. Mom and Dad had a big hospital gala thing and got all fancy and left us with a babysitter. Of course they didn't take any pictures of themselves all dressed up. I watched the Derby with the babysitter, but was more excited by the Celtics game later on.

Reid is 9 months old now. Time just flies! He had a little bit of a rough go this month with a weird fever for 6 days straight and no other symptoms. Two pediatrician visits, blood and urine studies later, all went away just as strangely as it came in. He defintely says Mama and Dada. Dada he says to dada but he also says it when he's happy. Mama he says specifically to Mom and it comes out more whiney. He makes all sorts of consonant babbling sounds. He can clap, wave. He eats lots of table foods. He's started crawling, though very slowly, and he can pull himself up. He's a great little brother. At the pediatrician's office, he weight 19 lbs 6 oz, but he has his official 9 month check up in 2 weeks.

I have been begging for a bike. I ride one at my friend Kaya's house all the time. I have a tricycle from last year, but at 44.5 inches tall now, I look a little ridiculous riding it. The weather is still cold and rainy but we bought a bike for me this past weekend. I love it and took to it like a natural.

Weeee!

Not to be left out, Reid got to ride on my old lion toy. He doesn't go anywhere on it, but he enjoys sitting on it.

We're headed out to the beach in 2 weeks and can hardly wait. Stay tuned!

Baby on the Move!

Watch out world! Little Reid may be slow as a snail, but he's officially on the move!

Breath of Fresh Air

After a long brutal winter, we've finally started seeing some temperatures on the warmer side of freezing. It's hard keeping two active boys cooped up in the house.

It took a while for the snow to melt off the playgrounds, but finally March weather did the trick. Reid and I took a much needed trip to the playground. I love showing him new things like the slide.

Weeee!

That ride was definitely drool worthy!

Happy baby loves some swing!

March was definitely madness at our house as Kentucky made a much deeper than expected run in the tourney. I begged and pleaded to stay up late watching each game- just one more commercial!!! I had to know which team was which, even if it wasn't the Cats playing. I always asked how many team A was winning by and how much team B was losing by - which you would think would be the same amount, but that's not what I meant. I really wanted to know what the score was. Watching basketball taught me a lot actually - not only do I know all about bounce passes, threes, rejections, defense, fouls...I also am now able to count all the way to 100 without missing a number, and this is solely from me watching so many games. I also can identify all numbers up to 100 which is helpful when looking at scores. I cheered my heart out! Turns out the bracket I made with UK in the final game wasn't too far off!

Reid looked pretty fierce in his pregame exercises before the UK/North Carolina game!

But he was all smiles by the end of the game!

Soccer season is back in full swing. I've moved up to the 4 year old league this time. Little Reid is not a fan of coming to my games.

I'm on the light blue team this year. Our name is the Blue Jays. Mimi came up for the week of Mommy's birthday and was able to watch my very first game this year. Funny how we didn't take any pictures of her.

I was definitely right in the middle of the action again this season, but there are some other good players on my team.

Go Coopy Go! I'm good at defense and still really fast. I scored one goal in this game, but I was very disappointed in myself because other kids on my team scored more than one. I was in tears. I still haven't gotten the concept of "team" and no matter who scores, as long as it's for our own team is a good thing. I'm mister competitive.

Later that afternoon, Mister Competitive moved on to trying his hand at baseball in the backyard.

Sometimes you swing and miss... a lesson that I still have to learn.

Cute Little Reid turned 8 months old on Mommy's birthday! He babbles a lot - lots of dada, mama, bubba, and other nonsense. He's really starting to clap a lot. He's eating three meals a day and practically begging for solid foods off of our plates, so he's really gotten to eat a lot of stuff. He still has no teeth. He loves to stand up while holding onto stuff, but he's not pulling up on his own yet. He can scoot backwards on his stomach, but he hasn't figured out the crawling forward motion yet.

A first wagon ride, when pulled by Mimi, is met with all smiles!

More birthdays...my buddy Avram had his fourth birthday party at a real gym, complete with a real trapeze. I rode this over and over and over. I even figured out how to touch my toes to the bar and fly upside down.

Weeee!

From one flying trapeze artist to another, my best buddy Kaya and I took a trip to the Big Top.

We've been best buds since we were 18 months old! It's gonna be tough not seeing Kaya every day when I'm at school in the fall.

And I'll leave you with a little cheese...this is Reid's new face when the camera flash goes off!

He was mad about scooting all the way backwards under his toy, but when the camera went off, he was all cheese!

Cheese! Let's hope the days of normal smiling pictures are not gone!
