Fun in the Sun!

Another month, another set of adventures for the Bolton Boys. This month took us all the way to Myrtle Beach for some fun in the sun.


I am still OBSESSED, and I mean ob-sessed, with sports. I love watching, I love playing, I love trying to guess who's going to win, and I love trying to figure out all the rules. I'm now into playing baseball in the backyard with daddy. He pitches, I hit, then I run around like a crazy man trying to score. Sometimes I slide into base, which is what happened here, or should I say faceplant. Daddy took this picture of me as I got up, then gave me hugs and made me feel better. Even I have to laugh at this silly picture now that my face doesn't hurt anymore.


But I'm not the only messy one, oh no. Little Reid is quite the babbler, or growler. He is never quiet for long, so when he is quiet, watch out. Mom was watching tv, not paying too much attention as she thought he was playing with toys. Things had been quiet for too long, and when she turned around, she found Reid had helped himself to his own jar of baby food. Guess the little guy was hungry!

We took our annual trip with the Bolton family. We went to Myrtle Beach again this year, to the same place we went last year that had the indoor water park and the beach. It was Reid's first beach experience. He wasn't too sure at first.


He especially wasn't too sure of the ocean. He cried anytime he got anywhere near it.


I, on the other hand, can't get enough of the beach and water!






Reid eventually warmed up and enjoyed playing in the sand - still didn't like the water too much.

Reid went from stationary to crawling like a maniac in just a few days! He can follow you anywhere!

Reid, just like big brother, loves anything on wheels. He'll push his cars around anywhere and make a noise that sounds like Vroom Vroom.




By our third day there, Reid realized that the sand was quite tasty. He picked it up and ate it by the handful. Eew.

Back home to the real world, and soccer season was winding down. Reid dressed in light blue for my last game. Go blue jays!

No trophy this year, but we did get these pretty cool medals. Coach told me I did a great job this year. No doubt as I was the number one scorer!


My bestest friend Kaya has a winter birthday like me, so every year she has a big half birthday party in the park. We love to do silly things.

Daddy's neurology residency is finally over! Wahoo. Gigi and Bubba came in for a week to watch him at his graduation dinner. On to Epilepsy fellowship! We're proud of you Daddy!


Little Reid is quite the funny guy. He's 10 months old this month. At his 9 month check up he was 20 lbs 1 oz and 29.25 inches long. He was also diagnosed with pneumonia so got his first round of antibiotics for any of us kiddos. If there is a cold to catch, no doubt little Reid will catch it to the fullest. Overall, he's a super happy kiddo. When he's well, he's a great sleeper and great eater. No more baby food for this guy - he's a little Mooch! He crawls anywhere and everywhere. He cruises around. He's starting to stand for a few seconds but nowhere near taking steps. He's found his little voice and babbles nonstop.

I had been looking forward to the movie Cars 2 for years now. We went to see it the first night it came out in 3D. I had a special date with just Mommy and Daddy. Life is pretty good. Stay tuned for next month's adventures.

Easter, Soccer, and New Wheels

Our family of four, dressed up for Easter. We didn't do much this month, but instead filled the blog with lots of cute pictures of us.


While Mom and I were at the circus last month, Dad took Reid to his first Red Sox game. A week later, Dad took a special day off and took me to a game. I love going to games and always want to know who's winning.



Gigi and Bubba came up for Easter this year.

Easter morning and I love a good pose. A few weeks earlier when Mimi was here, we went shopping for an Easter outfit. We found this suit and I got to try it on in a dressing room. I had never tried on anything before, so once I got it on, I struck all sorts of fancy poses in the dressing room. I admired myself over and over and just said things like, "I love this suit" and "I'm as fancy as Daddy." Daddy got me a big boy tie and then coordinated his tie with mine and I was absolutely in love with the way I looked (hence the five-billion pictures to follow.)






Let's not forget little Reid. He was pretty stylin' too. The ground was too wet to sit him down to do much posing.

After church we took a quick trip around the block while the Easter Bunny finished up hiding the eggs in the back yard.

The hunt was on!

Bubba helped me find some more. They were pretty tricky this year.


Spring soccer is still in full swing. It rained out the game Gigi and Bubba were in town for, but we were back on for the next 2 weeks. We've already had way more games than we did last spring season.


I've gotten over my crying after each game and am much better with the team concept. I'm still a scoring machine, scoring 2-4 goals each game. I've also gotten better on defense. I spend a big portion of the game falling down.


We planted some tulips last fall and they turned out nicely. I grew nearly an inch and a half in the last 3 months. I'm really very interested in letters, spelling, and reading things. I really try to sound out words on my own. I'm not ready to start reading yet, but I can write all my upper and lower case letters. I can also write all my numbers. I'm still obsessed with any and all types of sports.

Derby came and went pretty unnoticed at the Bolton household. Mom and Dad had a big hospital gala thing and got all fancy and left us with a babysitter. Of course they didn't take any pictures of themselves all dressed up. I watched the Derby with the babysitter, but was more excited by the Celtics game later on.


Reid is 9 months old now. Time just flies! He had a little bit of a rough go this month with a weird fever for 6 days straight and no other symptoms. Two pediatrician visits, blood and urine studies later, all went away just as strangely as it came in. He defintely says Mama and Dada. Dada he says to dada but he also says it when he's happy. Mama he says specifically to Mom and it comes out more whiney. He makes all sorts of consonant babbling sounds. He can clap, wave. He eats lots of table foods. He's started crawling, though very slowly, and he can pull himself up. He's a great little brother. At the pediatrician's office, he weight 19 lbs 6 oz, but he has his official 9 month check up in 2 weeks.


I have been begging for a bike. I ride one at my friend Kaya's house all the time. I have a tricycle from last year, but at 44.5 inches tall now, I look a little ridiculous riding it. The weather is still cold and rainy but we bought a bike for me this past weekend. I love it and took to it like a natural.

Not to be left out, Reid got to ride on my old lion toy. He doesn't go anywhere on it, but he enjoys sitting on it.

We're headed out to the beach in 2 weeks and can hardly wait. Stay tuned!
