Visiting My Grandparents and My Cousin

Hi everybody. I'm growing up so fast - I'm now thirteen months old. This month my Mimi Evans came to visit, I stayed with Grandpa Bolton while Mommy and Daddy went house hunting in Boston, and then I went to North Carolina to visit the Boltons and my new cousin Samantha.

Aren't I cute?

I went to my first birthday party for my friend Ishaan who was turning one this month. He had his party at the Please Touch Museum which is one of my favorite places. I had a great time at this party, sailing the blue seas as Captain Cooper. The best part was when noone was looking, I stuck my hand right in the icing of his birthday cake. Mommy and Daddy were really embarrassed and we left shortly after that. I was hungry and that cake looked so yummy.

Before we left the museum, I had a good time carrying this pretend vacuum cleaner around.

When Mimi Evans was here, she dressed me in my Kentucky gear before Daddy woke up in the morning, hehe. Daddy took this picture to send to Mommy when she was on call. I'm playing in a corner behind a chair and the curtains - I didn't think anyone could see me.

Mommy asked Mimi to take some nice pictures of us together. They told me to "cheese" for the camera, so I obliged. Pretty, huh?

After Mimi left, Grandpa Bolton came up to visit me. Mommy got the job at Boston Children's so she and Daddy left for a few days to play House Hunters in Boston. Though they didn't find anything, they got a better idea of neighborhoods that they thought I would like. Before they left though, we all went to The Franklin Institute - a science museum that had a Star Wars exhibit.

Haha, Mommy can't get me as I race through this artery like a little red blood cell. Yes, we are all dorks.

Daddy and I flew the friendly skies in a jet fighter.

Mommy and I pretended we were airplanes in a wind tunnel. You may not be able to tell, but the wind is really blowing my hair.

When I touch this tube, all the light comes to my fingers. Cool!

Climbing a rock wall...

This year I spent Valentines Day in the car driving from Philadelphia to Charlotte, so no cute poses for me this year. This is what I looked like last year when I was just over one month old. I was little.

Here I am in Charlotte with my cousin Samatha. Samantha is two months old - she's pretty cute. I'm not sure what I think about her quite yet - I didn't like when she cried, and I especially didn't like when Mommy held her. Mommy's lap belongs to me!

Sixty degrees and sunny was a nice change from the ice storm we escaped in Philadelphia, so we went to the park to play and work off some of my crankiness.

Here's me with my Bolton grandparents and Samantha.

Swinging is so fun!

Weeeeee!

The slide was really fun too!

Check out me and Samantha in our matching Winnie the Pooh jammies. The look on my face at her crying says it all. I tried to bonk her on the head but noone would let me. Look at my cool hair!

Time to say bye bye to Samantha, Lauren, Isaac, Grammy, and Grandpa. I had a fun trip, but I was really homesick. I hope you enjoyed looking at all my fun adventures this month.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

A new year, a first year, the Cards, the Cats, walking, and causing trouble - what a great month this one has been...

As you can see, I was not the poster child for the New Year's baby. I can hardly stay up past 730p. Nope, I went to bed like it was any old night, while Mommy and Daddy watched the ball drop, then went to sleep themselves.

I did get a special visitor this month. Mom's friend Ali was in town interviewing at Penn for a residency spot. It was nice to meet her.

January 5th was the UK/UofL game. Daddy was on call that day so Mommy dressed me in red and blue. Boy, I was confused. I sure didn't like wearing this trucker hat though - that just made this outfit a little too over the top.

The next day while Mommy was at work, Daddy dressed me in my Cards gear and gloated all day long.

On January 6th, I had my birthday party - don't tell anyone that my birthday wasn't until the 9th. It was Sesame Street themed - I love Elmo. Don't Mommy and Daddy look silly in their hats. There were lots of people here to help me celebrate. I showed off all my funny skills including the walking that I was learning to do. I was quite the entertainer.

See my cake? It was yummy.

And look at my Elmo and Oscar cupcakes!

Cake is yummy!

January 9th is my real birthday. Daddy was on call that day. Boo. The day was pretty low key, although I did have a little party at daycare. I got to open a few presents. I don't really know why people call it a birthday - I got presents and cake lots of times this month! At this point, I could only take a few steps, so whenever Mommy left to go in the other room, I got mad because I couldn't follow her. Mamamama!

I got this cool puzzle.

When Mommy is on call, Daddy lets me dress in whatever clothes I pick out. He also lets me dance on the dryer. Playing with Daddy is fun!

Look at me!!! I'm walking on the streets of Philadelphia! I can even walk the 1.5 blocks home from daycare, though it takes like half an hour. I've also learned how to say hi and bye.

This is my sleepy face after I'm all clean and ready for bed.

And now I have almost enough hair for a faux hawk. The few hairs that I have are curly!

I like being one!!! I'm such a big boy. Thank you all for looking at my blog and I look forward to new adventures next month. Keep in touch!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

And I got them too! This was a very exciting month for me. While I didn't travel anywhere exotic, I did have visitors from Kentucky, North Carolina, and The North Pole!

I love school. We celebrate all sorts of interesting holidays. November was Native American Heritage Month - just call me Injun Coops.

I am 11 months old now, and Mommy and Daddy told me the Holiday Season is approaching, whatever that means. All I know is these lights sure are bright, made of glass, and contain small amounts of lead paint. Mommy and Daddy are the best parents!

The word I've heard most often this month to describe me is "busy." I don't know what this "busy" word means, but I do know that I especially love to yell, clap my hands, crawl real fast, stand up by myself and take one step, play with all my toys at once, push buttons on anything electronic, and dance to music - so if that's busy, busy I am!

One day after work, I went to help Mom and Dad pick out my very first Christmas tree. It was snowing that day. There's nothing like reading a book by the twinkling light of the Christmas tree!

On Mommy's day off, she took me to have my picture made with Santa Claus at the King of Prussia Mall. I'm not too sure about this guy.

Since we were unable to make it back to Kentucky for my first Christmas, Mimi and Papaw Evans brought Christmas to me in Philadelphia. They brought all sorts of goodies!

But most fun of all, Mimi taught me to say "Doodly-doo" real loud into this cardboard tube. That's really funny!

Look at me do it - Dadadbabbgooodlygoo!

On December 14th, my very first cousin was born - Samantha Rose Arledge. Aunt Lauren and Uncle Isaac are doing well. I can't wait to meet her!

Samantha got all fancy in her Christmas dress.

Look Mommy what UPS delivered to you for Christmas - me!

On Christmas Eve I can hardly wait to open all these presents.

If I blow kisses and look really cute, maybe they'll let me open them now.

We went to Christmas Eve mass. I know we're supposed to celebrate Jesus's birthday and stuff, but all I wanted to do was crawl and explore the church, but noone would let me. Oh well, here's a nice picture of me with Mommy and Daddy.

And here's me again with Grammy and Grandpa Bolton who came to help me celebrate my first Christmas. They brought a lot of presents!

When I woke up the next day, there was this house waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. It was great, opening and closing the doors, windows, mailbox, everything!

I also got this great box.

And I got this really cool chair where I could sit and open more presents!

My chair is so cool.

Mommy and Daddy also taught me how to do the touchdown sign. Now that we're moving into basketball season, it also works well when they yell "three!".

It also works well when Grammy rocks me really fast on my new rocking horse. Weeeee.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my latest updates. I'm really looking forward to my birthday in the next few days. I hope to hear from you soon!
