Boston and Hurricanes?

Welcome back to my blog!  I'm 20 months old now.  My hair has grown and so have I.   I'm really talking quite well now and often use at least 2 word sentences, although most of them start with the word "More..."  Mommy and Daddy said that I am officially a Boston native because when I see the trains, I yell "More T!" (The T is the name of the Boston public transportation system.)

We've done a lot of work on the house, though there's still tons to do.  We have the exterior of the house painted.  Look back to a post in June if you want to see the before shot.  Since this picture was taken, we've ripped out all the old landscaping and add a lot of new landscaping.  Mommy also finished painting the red fence black.

Gigi (formerly known as Grammy, but I couldn't say that) and Bubba (it's how I say Grandpa) Bolton came up to Boston to visit this month.  We had such a good time on the trolley bus with Taylor that I took them on a tour too.  We're down at the docks posing with the boats (or boaps as I say).

Walking though downtown.

Gigi let me wear her big glasses.  I look like Elton John.

The weather is starting to cool down and the leaves are starting to turn.  I'm playing outside when I can and enjoying the 60 degree weather before I have to start bundling up for winter.  Boo.

Mommy and I took a trip back to Madisonville for a weekend.  We flew in for Maureen Berry's wedding.  Boy did we have an adventure!  First, I got to fly on an airplane.  Then Papaw Evans came to pick me up at the airport and brought me some toy cars.  Then, we ran out of gas.  Yes, that's right - Papaw didn't have much gas when he picked us up, so we thought we'd stop and get some just outside of Nashville.  Little did we know that Nashville and then entire surrounding areas were out of gas - who runs out of gas?  So we drove around looking for gas stations that had gas.  We finally found one that had gas and we were about seventh in line.  When we got to be third in line, that station ran out too.  Luckily we remembered that Meredith McCoy lived in Nashville.  So she and her family brought us two gallons of gas that they'd gotten earlier in the day in their 2.5 hour search for gas, took us to their house, and then we took their car back to Madisonville.  Thank goodness for my Elmo video and my new portable DVD player.  What a long day!!!

We finally made it home a little after 10 o'clock and I was ready for bed!

I got to play the piano at Mimi and Papaw's house.  I was pretty good.

How could I not be good since Mimi was teaching me?

Then we got all gussied up for the wedding.  Yes, that is my pacifier in my mouth (my pa-pa).  Mommy let me have it for the wedding so that I would be quiet.  It still didn't work.

After the wedding, we went to the annual Catholic church picnic.  I got to see a horse named Sally.  I would get up close to her, but was too afraid to touch her.  I just kept telling her "Bye bye."

After the picnic, I went over to the McCoy's house and played with Meredith's daughter Isabella.  We had a little goldfish picnic of our own.

It'd been almost a whole year since I had been to Mimi and Papaw Evans' house.  They had done a lot of remodeling, including new landscaping.  They put me to work making me water it.

But I also had to water Mimi.

Who would have thought that up here in Boston we would be so affected by hurricanes?  It was because of Ike that we ran out of gas in Nashville.  We've had to survive hurricanes Hanna and Kyle.

I hate being cooped up inside.  When it's raining outside, I still beg to go on walks, outside, or to the park.  Sometimes Mommy and Daddy let me, even when hurricane Hanna is here.

But we've had to think of other creative things to do.  So, here is the emergence of my alter ego... Super Cooper!  I fly around the house with my yellow blankie cape, backwards Louisville hat, trusty shades, and mighty purple sippy cup.  Bad guys beware!

I got to play outside a little bit when Hurricane Kyle hit.

Then I went to the Baby Disco.  Yes, it's a nightclub opened up once a month during the day in cities throughout the country, just for toddlers.  I got to practice my stellar moves.

Since Mommy now is on a real rotation and Daddy is back taking care of the adults, the three of us are rarely together.  We took this picture the other night because it was the first time in over a week the three of us had been home together.  I do know what the word "work" means.

I hope you've enjoyed my blog.  This is me on the new computer.  We did have a few of our Philadelphia friends Naomi and Marsha visit this month and look forward to the people visiting next month.  Take care!!!

Surviving Hanna

The day the hurricane hit, Cooper was being particularly pesky and begged to go outside.  He usually hates getting his head wet, so I thought I'd show him that going outside was a bad idea.  Boy did I teach him - now he loves hurricanes!  (PS the thunder in the background is just added for effect - it was not thundering outside while my child was playing).

The second video is Cooper doing just a few of his tricks.  He's not so much a baby anymore!

Enjoy! -Allison

Sports, Parks, Visitors, Beaches, and Pee Pee

Another month has passed and now I'm nineteen months old!  I keep growing up so fast.  I've really had a word explosion this month - mommy can no longer keep up with the number of words I know.  I am putting together two words in sentences and once I even said three words in a row.  My favorite things to do are going to parks, playing choo-choos and cars, reading books, drinking milk, dancing, and pointing out buses.  Take a look at what I've been up to this month.

Whenever Mommy or Daddy is on call, the other one thinks of pretty cool activities for me to do to keep me busy.  I went on my first hike with Daddy.  The weather has been absolutely gorgeous - with most days in the mid 70's to 80's.

Then we had some snacks on the front porch.  My front porch doesn't even look like this anymore though because Mommy and Daddy ripped out all the bushes and had the whole house painted.  We have an ice cream truck that comes by the house every day at 4.  I got my first popsicle on these very steps this month - yummy!

On one of their days off together, Mommy and Daddy took me to the zoo.  It was not one of my best moments though.  Normally I really like animals (or "mamimals").  I can tell you about the sounds of horses, cows, sheep, dogs, cats, owls, snakes, lions, birds, and ducks.

I still love the camera and making silly faces.  I'm really good at imitating your face and have a pretty good sad face I can do on command, complete with pouty lip.

I had a couple of visitors this month.  Ashley and Mike Fitz came to visit us and we had a cookout in our back yard.  I got to stay up real late.  I don't have any pictures of that though.  Uncle Taylor (Ta-Ta) also came to visit all the way from Illinois.  He hadn't seen me since Halloween last year.

Uncle Ta-Ta was really good at vrooming my cars and trucks.  He described me as "constant motion."

When Ta-Ta was here, we went to a neat park.  We were even able to get pictures of the tree of us!  There's a video down below if you want to see how much fun I had that day!

I put on my safari hat to take Mommy, Daddy, and Ta-Ta on a trolley tour of Boston.  It was awesome.  Mommy and Daddy weren't sure I was going to like it, but I did.  Everytime the trolley stopped, I exclaimed "More bus!!!"

Here's a view of our new city, one of the many neat things we saw on our tour day.

After one of our trolley stops, I got to ride Daddy.

I'm getting into playing sports.  I now have my own baseball bat and golf clubs.  Here I am playing soccer.  The video below shows me playing basketball.  The Olympics really have me motivated.

This is my Elmo potty and that's me sitting on the potty.  Aren't you proud?  It's a little early, but Mommy and Daddy have me practicing on the potty and I've actually pee-peed in it three times in the last two days.  It's really exciting - plus they reward me when I go!

We took a big day trip this month to Singing Beach on the North Shore.  It was only an hour away from our house.  It was such a beautiful day and I really had a great time.  Can you find me?

The ocean was so much fun.  I love when the waves came up and got me.  "More wawa!"

Yummy pretzel!

I thought the best waves were over there!

Wahoo.  The beach is cool.

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog this month.  Next time you see me, I'll be talking your ears off.  Mommy and I are coming into Kentucky next month for a wedding, so hopefully we'll see some of you then!  Take care and start planning your Boston trip now before the snow!
